Website Design Hints
Whether you or a website design company is creating your website, there are a few things you need to consider.
1. Who are you wanting to target with your website?
2. What is the purpose of your website ? Will you sell products, advertise business or simply have a personalized website for your family or a hobby.
It is a good idea to create a visual representation of what you want your website to look like before the creation process is begun.
If you are building your own website you need to think about what software you will use. Do you have knowledge of website coding. Website used coding could be html, ASP or PHP. Html is standard code for most websites today. ASP and PHP coding could be used for database driven websites. Database driven websites are websites where information is pulled from a database such as customers account information. Database driven websites sometimes have a place where a user can login and pull information from a database.
There is software out there that allows you to build websites without knowledge of website coding. MAC product examples include Apple IWEB, Rapidweaver, Freeway or Freeway Pro by Softpress. PC examples include Web Easy Professional by Avanquest Software.
If you are familiar with website coding, Adobe Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression Web could be choices for you.
Tip: Table based website design layouts and css based layouts have their advantages. Websites built using cascading style sheets (css) can load faster than table based websites and may be more search engine friendly. Table based layout websites pretty much mean what it says. Tables with cells are used to build websites. With css you use styles to customize the design and look of your website.
